A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Mulugu district in Telangana on Wednesday morning, sending tremors across Hyderabad and parts of Andhra Pradesh. The quake occurred at 7:27 am, sparking panic among residents, although no immediate reports of casualties or major damage have been reported.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 40 kilometers, with coordinates at latitude 18.44° N and longitude 80.24° E. The seismic event is considered rare for the region, which is not typically prone to significant earthquakes.

The tremors, felt as far as Hyderabad, caused temporary panic, but no major destruction has been reported as of now. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely, with teams dispatched to assess any potential damage in the affected areas.
