Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Alleges 15,000 Indian Workers Being Sent to Israel Under Modi’s NSDC Amid War

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday made a significant allegation against the Modi government, claiming it is facilitating the recruitment of Indian workers in Israel amidst the ongoing conflict in West Asia. In a post on X, Kharge asserted that around 15,000 Indian workers are being sent to Israel through the government’s National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

“None less than Modi Govt’s National Skill Development Corporation is facilitating the recruitment of about 15,000 Indian workers in Israel, amidst the war in West Asia,” Kharge wrote, expressing concern over the government’s actions during a period of heightened conflict.

The Congress leader criticized the government for what he termed a failure to protect young Indians, referencing a past incident where many were misled by dubious agents into joining the Russia-Ukraine war. “Earlier many Indian youth were duped by dubious agents to go for the Russia-Ukraine war. Many have lost their lives too. It speaks volumes about the joblessness induced by the anti-youth policies of the Modi Govt,” Kharge added.

Kharge further highlighted the desperation of young, unskilled, and semi-skilled Indians who are reportedly willing to take risks and serve in conflict zones for what are perceived to be lucrative salaries. “The fact that young unskilled, semi-skilled, and educated youth are willing to risk their lives and serve in war-ridden theatres at reportedly high salaries tells you that PM Modi’s lofty claims on jobs are nothing but fake retorts to hide his own failures!” he exclaimed.

As the campaign for Haryana’s October 5 assembly elections came to an end, Kharge warned that the youth in Haryana, who he claims are being pushed to seek employment in dangerous territories, would deliver a “befitting lesson” to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the polls.

The assembly elections in Haryana, set for October 5, have witnessed intense political maneuvering from both the BJP and Congress. The BJP is aiming for a third consecutive term, while the Congress hopes to reclaim power after a decade in the opposition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been actively campaigning, addressing four rallies and criticizing the Congress for its past failures, particularly regarding significant national issues like the Ram temple dispute. In contrast, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a public meeting in Nuh, a region that experienced communal violence last year, proclaiming that a “Congress storm” is on the horizon. He promised a government dedicated to the poor and farmers, vowing to create a “shop of love” in every corner of Haryana.

Polling is expected to take place across all 90 constituencies, with over 20,000 polling booths established for the elections. Voting is scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm, according to Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal.
