A total of 36 union ministers on Jammu-Kashmir visit, will meet people and officials at eight places in Kashmir and 52 in Jammu region
New Delhi: In attempts to assure citizens and listen to their grievances, five months after abrogation of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government had deputed 36 of its ministers to Jammu and Kashmir in what was being called as the largest outreach campaign by the Centre.
The ministerial delegation visit and program, from 18 to 24 January, was termed as central government’s largest outreach campaign in the valley. Today, was the final visit day of ministerial delegation with Minister of Electronics-Information Technology Pralhad Joshi’s visit and interaction in Rajouri district’s Kotranka area, and Minister of MSME Giriraj Singh’s address and meeting at Udhampur’s Chenani town.
According to a senior official, who accompanying the ministers, the purpose of ministers was also to inform the people of Jammu-Kashmir that the steps taken by the centre were undertaken keeping them as the centerpiece of all policies and programs.
After the abrogation of Article 370, there were shutdown-like conditions in Kashmir. Several restrictions continue to be in force, coupled with ban the Internet ban connectivity. Reports indicated that the ministers visited 60 places and held talks with people and officials in 52 places in Jammu and eight places in three districts of Kashmir.
Centre will grant Scholarships to 10 lakh students
Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi informed local media that, the abrogation of Article 370 is showing positive impact on the lives of the people. With new change, development and happiness will return to Jammu-Kashmir. The centre will grant scholarship to 100,000 students of Jammu-Kashmir.
“In the next five years, scholarship will be granted to 1 million students. The government is emphasizing on curbing unemployment in Jammu-Kashmir and ensuring industrial development here,” Naqvi said.
