As the nation observes Mahashivratri and Women’s Day, Uddhav Thackeray, head of the Thackeray group, took a moment to address pressing issues, particularly the concerning developments in Manipur and the ongoing struggles faced by women.
Speaking at a gathering in Dharashiv, Thackeray expressed his concerns over the plight of female wrestlers in Manipur, whose cries for justice have gone unnoticed. He emphasized the need for greater attention and action to address the oppression faced by women across the country.
“With which mouth should we give the greetings of Women’s Day? What has happened in Manipur can’t even be talked about now. In many places, women are still being oppressed, and we would like to express our best wishes in our dry words,” said Uddhav Thackeray
Thackeray’s message on Women’s Day went beyond conventional greetings, urging women to channel the strength of Hindu goddesses like Mahishasura Mardiniand and Kalimata in their fight against oppression. He called upon mothers and sisters to unite in the struggle to protect “Mother India” from dictators and tyrants, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and action.
Furthermore, Thackeray underscored the significance of honesty and integrity in politics, framing the upcoming Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly battles as a choice between loyalty and betrayal. He urged the people of Maharashtra to uphold the values of honesty and integrity, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
“The Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly battle is not just about parties. So it’s tigers versus wolves. Who are you, Honest vs. Dishonest, Who Are You? Traitor vs. Loyalist, Who Are You? Entire Maharashtra has to decide. You are going to do treachery and dishonesty not with Uddhav Thackeray or Shiv Sena but with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Maharashtra. You are the ones who will not stand for honesty,” said Uddhav Thackeray.”
