The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set the electoral stage for the much-awaited Lok Sabha elections by unveiling its first list of candidates. In a press conference led by the party’s vice president Baijayant Panda and general secretary Vinod Tawde, the BJP revealed the names of 195 candidates who will vie for parliamentary seats across the country.

Addressing the media, Vinod Tawde highlighted some key highlights of the announcement, stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest the election from UP’s Varanasi. The list includes 34 union ministers, the Lok Sabha speaker, and 2 former ministers.”

Among the prominent candidates, Home Minister Amit Shah will contest from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar constituency, while the state president CR Paatil will vie for the Navsari seat.

Union Minister Kiran Rijiju has been nominated to contest from the Arunachal West constituency, with State President Tapir Gao aiming for victory in the Arunachal East seat. Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal will contest from Dibrugarh.

Other notable candidates include Manoj Tiwary, who will be contesting from North East Delhi, and Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, who will be representing New Delhi.

In Jharkhand, Nishikant Dubey has been chosen to contest from the Godda constituency, while Geeta Koda will be fighting from Sinhabhum. Arjun Munda is set to contest from Khunti.

With the announcement of these key candidates, the BJP has signaled its intent and strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, setting the stage for a fiercely contested political battle across the nation.
