The recently released Bollywood movie “Article 370” has become the latest victim of piracy, with the film now available for free download on various torrent websites and online streaming platforms. The movie, directed by National Award-winning Aditya Suhas Jambhale, stars Yami Gautam, Priyamani, and Arun Govil.
The plot of “Article 370” revolves around Zoobi Haksar, portrayed by Yami Gautam, a local agent on a covert mission amidst the backdrop of the 2016 unrest in Jammu and Kashmir. The film depicts her efforts to dismantle the conflict economy of the region and combat terrorism by advocating for the revocation of Article 370, all without resorting to violence.
Despite its theatrical release, the movie has surfaced on various torrent platforms and Telegram channels, offering the entire film in HD quality. Platforms like Filmywap, Onlinemoviewatches, 123movies, 123movierulz, and Filmyzilla are among those facilitating free downloads, raising concerns about the rampant issue of piracy in the film industry.
“Article 370,” produced by Jio Studios, has garnered attention for its timely subject matter and stellar performances. However, the unauthorized availability of the film on illegal websites threatens to undermine its commercial success and deprive the creators of their rightful earnings.
While the film’s availability on OTT platforms post-theatrical release is anticipated, there has been no official confirmation yet. Speculations suggest that it may be accessible on Jio Cinemas, given its production under Jio Studios, but viewers await an official announcement regarding its digital release.
As the film industry grapples with the persistent challenge of piracy, stakeholders emphasize the importance of stringent measures to curb illegal distribution and protect the intellectual property rights of filmmakers. Despite concerted efforts, piracy continues to pose a significant threat to the creative economy, necessitating collective action to address this ongoing issue.
