Bollywood stalwart Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared insights into the remuneration dynamics in the film industry, shedding light on the hefty paychecks earned by actors for their roles. The acclaimed actor, known for his versatile performances, revealed that he does not engage in extensive negotiations with filmmakers to increase his fees.
During an appearance on Unfiltered by Samdish, Nawazuddin was asked about the approximate earnings of Bollywood actors. In response, he acknowledged that actors indeed earn a substantial amount. When probed further about whether the figures reach the 10 crore mark or beyond, Nawazuddin cryptically replied, “Uske aas paas (Somewhere around that).”
When questioned about his negotiation tactics with filmmakers, Nawazuddin expressed a straightforward approach. He stated, “I don’t negotiate a lot. The industry gives you how much you deserve. If you negotiate, they will ask you, ‘do you deserve so much?'”
The actor shared that while he takes up certain projects with the goal of financial gain, he also commits to films without charging any remuneration. Nawazuddin emphasized, “I even tell (the makers) that I am doing this for money so that I can do films like Manto for free.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his integrity and commitment to his craft, had previously declared that he has moved away from accepting smaller roles in films. He affirmed that even if offered a staggering Rs 25 crore, he would not consider a minor role. In an interview with Bombay Times, he stated, “In my career in this industry, I have worked in many films where I did small roles. And I am done with that. Ab toh aap mujhe 25 crore bhi denge toh bhi main chhota role nahi karunga (Now even if you offer me Rs 25 crore, I won’t do a small role).”
On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming project is the film “Section 108,” co-starring Arbaaz Khan and Regina Cassandra.
