The much-anticipated release of ‘Fighter,’ starring Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor, has been overshadowed by an unfortunate incident. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand and presented by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, has reportedly been leaked online on its day of release, making it available on various torrent sites and Telegram channels. This untimely leak is likely to have repercussions on the film’s Box Office collections.
‘Fighter’ promises audiences an adrenaline-pumping experience with its stellar cast and a storyline paying tribute to the valour, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian armed forces. Despite the filmmakers’ efforts to deliver a cinematic spectacle, the early online leak raises concerns about potential financial setbacks.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, as several films faced similar leaks on their release days in 2023. Expressing his sentiments about ‘Fighter’ earlier, Director Siddharth Anand stated, “Mamta (Siddharth’s wife) and I started our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER. A film that is ambitious in more ways than one. It’s more than just a film for us. And we have given it all to this one. 2024 starts with the same feeling again of nervousness and anxiety. Here’s hoping that you guys give the same love to FIGHTER that you showered on PATHAAN. Happy new year guys! See at the movies!! On 25th January.” The leak poses a significant challenge to the filmmakers, impacting the potential success of the movie at the Box Office.
