Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, recently tied the knot with Nupur Shikhare on January 3rd in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family, including Aamir Khan, his ex-wives Kiran Rao, and Reena Dutta.

The wedding caught attention for a unique reason—Nupur Shikhare’s unconventional attire, donning a tank top and shorts instead of the traditional sherwani. However, this departure from the norm sparked a wave of trolling online.

Responding to these trolls, Ira Khan took to her Instagram to address the situation subtly. She shared a snapshot from their wedding day, featuring herself dressed as a bride and Nupur in shorts and a tank top. Her caption playfully deflected criticism, stating, “He didn’t come on a horse. He ran to the venue. And I placed cute posters along the way.”

Nupur’s distinctive entry involved jogging to the wedding venue rather than arriving with the traditional baraat. He later signed the official marriage documents still dressed in the same attire, prompting questions from guests. Ira gracefully managed the situation, excusing Nupur momentarily as he freshened up before making his appearance in a blue kurta and pajamas alongside his wife.

Their wedding, initially a registered marriage, is set to continue with a three-day celebration in Udaipur in the upcoming week.

Interestingly, Nupur Shikhare hails from a family with a journalistic background. His father, Rajendra Shikhare, was a Pune-based former journalist known for his work in political and Mantralaya journalism, including serving as PRO for then-minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
