The electric vehicle policy was announced by the state government on July 23, 2021. A variety of incentives have been announced in the policy to boost the purchase of electric vehicles. This includes a quick registration discount. Also, it has been decided that from April 1, 2022, it has been decided that the vehicles to be procured through government, semi-government, local self-governing bodies funds should be battery electric vehicles.

The Electric Vehicle Policy is being implemented in coordination with various departments and agencies concerned.
