33-hour curfew begins in Karnataka; CM instructs departments to be strict, implement guidelines

In Karnataka, a 33-hour curfew beginning 8 pm yesterday was imposed to contain the spread of corona virus. It will continue till 5 am tomorrow. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has instructed each and every department to be very strict and implement the guidelines without any fear or favour. He has also appealed to the public to follow the guidelines and remain inside their house to control the corona virus.

Transport service will be off the road during the curfew. Auto rickshaw, Ola, Uber, private buses will not run during this period.

Only medical shops, milk, meat shop and Hotels will remain open. Police have clamped prohibitory order under section 144.

Borders with neighbouring Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will be closed and no vehicle will be allowed to enter or exit the state.
