In Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Amshipora village of Shopian district during wee hours today. The encounter broke out after a joint team of Shopian Police, Army’s 62 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) following a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the village.

As the joint team of security forces approached towards the suspected spot, the terrorists fired upon the team from the cow shed of the lone house in the orchard. The joint team of security forces effectively retaliated that resulted in the killing of three terrorists so far. The identity of the slain terrorists is being ascertained. The operation was still in progress when the last reports came in.
