Yogi Govt Considers 20% Police Quota for Agniveers, Hails Indian Army’s Swift Strike in Operation Sindoor

Lucknow: In a significant move towards empowering ex-Agniveer soldiers, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government is considering a 20% reservation in the state police force for Agniveers after their retirement from service. The proposal reflects the government’s intent to integrate disciplined and patriotic youth into civil security roles.

“Our government has decided — or rather, is seriously considering — that the soldiers contributing to the country’s defense through the Agniveer scheme should be given 20% reservation in Uttar Pradesh Police after their retirement,” Yogi said while addressing a public event in Lucknow.

He added that the character, courage, and commitment displayed by Agniveers would greatly enhance the functioning of the police force, creating a new cadre of well-trained and nationalistic officers at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to praise the Indian Army’s swift success in Operation Sindoor, calling it a “powerful symbol of the new India.” Referring to the operation that targeted terrorist camps across the Pakistan border, Yogi said, “It didn’t even take 22 minutes for our brave soldiers to destroy the terrorist camps of Pakistan. Even with support from countries like Turkey and China, Pakistan couldn’t stand before our forces and was ultimately forced to surrender.”

He stressed that India is no longer a soft state but a decisive power that the world respects and fears when provoked. “Operation Sindoor has sent a loud and clear message to the enemies of India,” he said.
