Winter Session of Parliament to Begin on December 1, President Murmu Gives Nod

New Delhi: The upcoming Winter Session of Parliament is set to begin on December 1 and continue until December 19, as approved by President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday. The announcement was made by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, who expressed hope that the session would be “constructive and meaningful,” reflecting the aspirations of the Indian people.

“The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, has approved the proposal of the Government to convene the Winter Session of Parliament from 1st December 2025 to 19th December 2025 (subject to exigencies of Parliamentary business),” Rijiju wrote on X. “Looking forward to a constructive & meaningful Session that strengthens our democracy & serves the aspirations of the people,” he added.

The session is expected to take up several key legislative and policy matters, setting the tone for crucial debates ahead of the 2026 Budget Session. Both the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition INDIA bloc are preparing for intense discussions on governance, economic reforms, and national security.
