Mumbai: The Shiv Sena (Shinde) Dussehra rally was held at the NESCO Center in Goregaon, Mumbai, with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressing party workers and the public.
During his speech, Shinde highlighted the flood situation in the state, expressing concern for the suffering of farmers in Baliraja. “Today we see that Baliraja is in trouble. There are tears in the eyes of Balirajya. Their agriculture has been washed away, crops destroyed, livestock lost, and homes collapsed. I went to the dam, I saw their suffering with my own eyes. In this desperate situation, we must extend a helping hand,” Shinde said.
He reiterated the party’s guiding principle from Balasaheb Thackeray, saying, “80 percent social work, 20 percent politics. This Guru Mantra given by the Shiv Sena chief, we have never left. Many Shiv Sainiks are helping. Relief vehicles are arriving.”
Shinde also emphasized the party’s philosophy of immediate disaster response, stating in Marathi, “Where there is crisis, there is Shiv Sena. Where there is disaster, there is Shiv Sena. I will not leave the people in trouble without running to help. Assistance is Shiv Sena’s policy. Whenever disaster strikes, Shiv Sena acts to provide help.”
Criticizing Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde used the occasion to contrast his party’s proactive work during disasters with the opposition. “Everything is devastated. We decided to call only local people to this rally, while others are busy helping. During this Dussehra, Shiv Sena is standing firmly behind Baliraja. The government is also supporting the relief work strongly in these circumstances,” he added.
