When ‘Vikrant’ will move, he will be CM Thackeray for police in code language

MVA has given importance to Pawar & Raj, but ignored LOP Darekar

Mumbai: Mumbai and Maharashtra police use some secret code names for the leaders of the state for the security and safety concern. When a wireless operator in a pilot van gives the message that ‘Vikrant’ is moving, then it will not be a warrior ship, but he will be Chief Minister of Maharashtra – Uddhav Thackeray, which only police can understand. These secrete names are identified as ‘call sign’.

The Maharashtra Police has identified some new names for the major leaders of the state and these secrete names (for the common man) will be implemented from Saturday onwards.

CM Thackeray will be ‘Vikrant’; deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will be ‘Arjun’ – the perfect name for ‘Dada’ who has an ‘eye’ on ‘target’ only. The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the assembly Devendra Fadnavis will be ‘VijayGad’ while Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be ‘Supreme’.

Till today, some old name was in operation after the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray came in power in November last year. Sanjay Barve was then Mumbai Police Commissioner, He has been replaced by Param Bir Singh recently. A team under the leadership of CP Singh has decided to change call sign of few leaders including CM Thackeray and LoP Fadnavis. There was a list of 21 VVIPs whose call sign was identified, of which names of 11 leaders have been changed.

Earlier, Thackeray was ‘Virat’, now he will be ‘Vikrant’. Whereas Fadnavis who was ‘Tiger’ for Mumbai Police, will be now ‘Vijay Gad’. The Governor who was ‘Supreme’ for the police will be now ‘Badal’ for them.

“What an interesting changes Mumbai Police has made in the call sign,” said a political observer. He said, “The ‘Lion’ Fadnavis has changed to ‘VijayGad’ and ‘Supreme’ Governor became ‘Badal’ of political uncertainty over MVA government. Police have given the perfect name.”

He further added that both Virat and Vikrant – the aircraft carrier naval warrior ship became scrap and removed from the naval service. Vikrant was dismantled in the year 2016 whereas Virat was retired in last month. “Is this just a coincident as there are ‘badal’ of dethroning of Thackeray government as the BJP is claiming? He asked question.

One more interesting thing is that the Mumbai Police has added name of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, which till date was not present in the list. Pawar’s call sign is ‘Royal’ whereas Raj has given identity as ‘Minar’

On the other hand, the department has not given importance to another LoP from Council Praveen Darekar.

Expressing surprise, the observer said that he can’t understand which criteria police have used to select names.
