We’re considering holding off vaccination drives temporarily for the 18-44 age group: Maharashtra Minister Rajesh Tope

States in India are facing vaccine shortage, and now Maharashtra government has deciding to stop vaccination for 18 to 44 so their vaccines can be used for 45 years above group, however the priority will be for those who need a second shot.

“There is a dearth of vaccines hence we’re considering holding off vaccination drives temporarily for the 18-44 age group. 2.75 lakh vaccine doses left for this group, that’ll be used for the 45 yrs & above group now. Administering 2nd dose is priority”, says Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
