New Delhi: Businessman Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, has alleged that he is being targeted by central probe agencies solely because of his association with the Gandhi family. Vadra, who was questioned for a second consecutive day by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in connection with a 2008 Gurugram land deal-linked money laundering case, claimed that the treatment meted out to him would have been different had he been affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Vadra, whose wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made her electoral debut in the 2024 general elections, asserted that his connection with the Gandhi family has made him a constant target. “We are the target because we are relevant. Whether Rahul Gandhi is stopped in the Parliament or I am stopped outside. We are the target for sure but we are not the soft target, we are the hard target…” said Vadra.

He also expressed his intention to formally enter politics soon. “I am almost an activist now and will soon join politics as I have been working with people since 1999,” Vadra stated, emphasizing his long-standing grassroots involvement.
