Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Monday made a strong case for the imposition of 15-day lockdown to break the chain of virus transmission and for the government to use this time to fortify the health infrastructure and achieve optimum utilisation of existing facilities. Tope’s statement comes close on the heels of the government’s preparation for a comprehensive financial package for the underprivileged and poor.
