Vijay Wadettiwar Urges Calm Amid Raj Thackeray–Nishikant Dubey Language Row: “No One Is Truly an Enemy”

Nagpur: As tensions flared between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey over the ongoing Hindi-Marathi language row, senior Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar stepped in, appealing for restraint and reconciliation.

Addressing the escalating war of words, Wadettiwar said, “You said, he said, we said — the scores are even now. But the real question is, no one is truly an enemy, and we do not oppose the Hindi language. Everyone has seen Raj Thackeray’s role. Our stance is that things should not escalate to physical confrontation…”

His statement comes in the wake of strong remarks exchanged between Thackeray and Dubey, which sparked fresh political friction over language identity in Maharashtra. Raj Thackeray had earlier warned against imposing Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states, while Dubey hit back, calling out what he claimed was anti-Hindi sentiment.
