Mumbai : Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, on September 15, will inaugurate ‘Constitution Temples’ in 434 ITIs across the state on the occasion of International Day of Democracy. Additionally, on September 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers’ and the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Startup Scheme’ in 1,000 colleges across the state.

The inauguration ceremony of the Constitution Temples will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Elphinstone Technical College, in the presence of Governor Dr. C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Minister of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Mangalprabhat Lodha.
For the inauguration of the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers and the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Startup Scheme, Governor Dr. C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Industries Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil, along with Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, will be present.
Constitution Temples
Constitution Temples will be established in ITIs across the state. Through these temples, the teachings of the Constitution and the thoughts of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar will be regularly disseminated. Various educational programs, seminars, and events commemorating constitutional milestones will also be held at these venues on significant historical days.
Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers
The New National Education Policy (2020) emphasizes vocational education, and under its implementation, the innovative ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers’ scheme has been launched. Skill development training centers will be established in 1,000 reputed colleges. Each year, approximately 150 youths (both male and female) will receive free skill development training at each center, benefiting about 1.5 lakh young people aged 15 to 45 annually across the state. The training will be entirely free, with all costs covered by the Skill Development Department.
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme
To empower women, the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme’ has been launched, providing funding and financial support to women entrepreneurs. The scheme aims to make women-led startups self-sufficient and independent, positioning Maharashtra as a leader in women-led startups. A provision of ₹100 crore has been made for the scheme, offering financial assistance of up to ₹25 lakh to around 1,000 startups.
Speaking at a press conference, Minister Lodha said, “Many skilled and ethical personalities have contributed to shaping our nation. It is due to their hard work that we have progressed this far. Through the Constitution Temples, we aim to help the next generation understand the history and significance of the Constitution. The future belongs to the younger generation, and there are immense opportunities for them in India. Our responsibility is to make these individuals skilled and ethical. Such leaders will not only guide India but also the world toward a brighter future. This is the goal behind establishing Constitution Temples and skill development centers in colleges. We are confident that the youth will respond positively to this.
