Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad had a narrow escape on Thursday when his car met with an accident on Fatehabad Road while he was en route to Agra. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the rear portion of the vehicle suffered noticeable damage.
Describing the incident, Nishad said, “A dog suddenly came in front of the vehicle. As soon as the brakes were applied to save the dog, another car hit us from behind.” The minister was accompanied by Agra resident Ajay Raj, a recipient of a presidential bravery award, who also escaped unharmed.
This is not the first time the minister has narrowly avoided injury on the road. In September 2025, Nishad’s car collided with a cow on the Fefna-Rasra road in Ballia. Despite the damage to the left side of the vehicle, Nishad and three others travelling with him were unharmed.
The incident comes amid a spate of similar occurrences involving political figures. In December 2025, Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij narrowly avoided injury after a black car rammed into his convoy in Ambala. Security forces quickly responded, surrounding and apprehending the driver responsible for the collision.
