Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling the opposition’s approach “immature” and accusing it of making reckless statements against the country’s constitutional institutions.

Speaking publicly, Maurya said, “Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition, but today I can say that just as we have a very mature Prime Minister who is taking the country forward, we have an equally immature opposition in power. Whatever accusations Rahul Gandhi makes, they always fall flat. This entire exercise is being carried out because he has clearly realised that he will not be able to reach the Prime Minister’s chair as long as Narendra Modi is there. And this is a desperation for power. Because of this, Congress is deliberately making irresponsible statements that target the country’s constitutional institutions.”
