New Delhi: Union Ministers across India hailed the 16th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rozgar Mela on Saturday, lauding the government’s commitment to accelerating employment creation and reinforcing India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy. Over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly inducted recruits in various Central Government departments and organisations during the event, held simultaneously across 47 locations nationwide via video conferencing.
The large-scale Rozgar Mela initiative has become a key platform for fulfilling PM Modi’s vision of merit-based, timely, and transparent employment, contributing significantly to youth empowerment and national development.
From Jodhpur, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted that the Rozgar Mela is part of the government’s mission to fill vacancies across nearly 30 lakh sanctioned posts, with over 10 lakh appointments already made. “In today’s edition, 51,286 appointment letters were distributed. India is rapidly becoming a manufacturing hub, and PM Modi’s Viksit Bharat vision is guiding this transformation,” he said.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, speaking at the Bikaner event, shared that most new appointees were selected for Indian Railways and the postal department, congratulating them on their new roles.
From Bhubaneswar, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan noted that 201 recruits received appointment letters there. “We are now the fourth-largest economy and soon to be the third. Our social security net and economic growth are lifting millions out of poverty and creating job opportunities,” he said.
In Hubballi, Karnataka, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi reminded the youth that India had moved from being among the “fragile five” to becoming a global economic powerhouse. “That growth brings job opportunities. I urge the youth to make full use of these government roles,” he said.
Union Minister CR Patil, speaking in Vadodara, emphasized that PM Modi strongly believes in merit-based and timely employment, calling youth the cornerstone of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
From Sambalpur, Odisha, Union Minister Jual Oram called the Rozgar Mela a pan-India movement of employment generation. “Last time I was in Tiruchirappalli, now in Sambalpur. It’s heartening to see this initiative touch every part of the country,” he added.
Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State, speaking from West Bengal, said, “Around 215 candidates received letters at Sealdah. Since 2022, this transparent and corruption-free initiative has given permanent jobs to lakhs.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary praised PM Modi’s delivery on the promise of 10 lakh jobs, saying, “He urged youth to serve the nation with honesty and dedication. They are the building blocks of a developed India.”
