Mumbai: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi strongly rebuked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday over his allegations of large-scale voter deletions and claims of “vote theft.”

“I do not know what he is trying to say. Our country has a good system, and we are the largest democracy. If people do not vote for them (Congress Party), then is it our fault? Why is he saying such nonsense? Is he comparing Nepal and Sri Lanka with us?… Names cannot be deleted like that… This has been verified, and a police complaint has also been filed about it… We do not want such an opposition leader… He himself is confused when he talks,” Joshi said.

The Union Minister accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting voters instead of presenting constructive ideas. “Instead of presenting their good work and vision, they disrespect people. After so many relaunches, he is still failing,” Joshi remarked.

Responding to Gandhi’s GenZ post on X, Joshi further said: “Their belief is that if they don’t gain power democratically, they will have to gain power through some leftist means. India will never accept this thinking… People are not supporting them. Calling for anarchy is not going to be liked by people.”

The sharp criticism comes amid Rahul Gandhi’s continued attack on the Election Commission, where he alleged that voter deletions were carried out illegally in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Election Commission has dismissed the allegations as baseless.
