Patna: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday assured that the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation in Nepal and is committed to ensuring the safety of all Indian nationals there.
Speaking about the ongoing unrest, Goyal said, “Our foreign ministry is keeping a complete watch on the situation there. Last night I also spoke to the ambassador there. They are taking care of the people, and a helpline has also been started. If anyone has any kind of concern there, then definitely inform on that helpline and our mission there will fully assist in bringing back all our people.”
Highlighting India’s track record in safeguarding its citizens abroad, the minister added, “You all have seen our track record. We have brought our people back even from the midst of big wars. Peace should be restored in Nepal as soon as possible.”
