Patna: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday hit back at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is copying his announcements on welfare schemes.
Manjhi said, “Tejashwi Yadav thinks too highly of himself. I thank him, but let me remind him of what his father did before 2005—the Jungle Raj… Was it Tejashwi Yadav who first announced schemes like cycles and uniforms for girls, or was it Nitish Kumar?”
The minister’s remarks come amid a growing political debate in Bihar, with Yadav asserting credit for various social welfare initiatives. Manjhi’s statement seeks to highlight the historical context of governance in Bihar, pointing to past administrative efforts while challenging Yadav’s claims.
