Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has tested positive for swine flu (H1N1) after reportedly feeling unwell for several days following his recent travel for work commitments.
The actor’s test results came back positive on August 28. Hashmi had been travelling for film shoots and was also recently in Ranchi. Following his diagnosis, he has postponed his upcoming Bengaluru appearance.
Emraan Hashmi Shares Health Update
Hashmi informed his fans about his condition through an Instagram Story on Saturday. The actor apologised to his Bengaluru fans and said he would not be able to attend the scheduled event because of his health.
He wrote, “Hey Bangalore, I’m really unwell and unfortunately won’t be able to make it to the Bangalore show. But picture khatam nahi hua, bas postpone hua hai! I’ll see you all at Sunburn Union on 12th September, Saturday. Your tickets will remain valid for the new date. Can’t wait to see you guys! @sunburnunionbengaluru @sunburnunion @unynx.blr.”
The Bengaluru event has now been shifted to September 12, with tickets for the original date remaining valid for the rescheduled programme.
Awarapan 2 Continues Strong Box Office Run
Hashmi’s health update comes at a time when the actor is receiving attention for his latest film Awarapan 2, which has performed strongly at the box office.
The romantic action drama features Hashmi alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in important roles. The film recorded a strong opening after its theatrical release.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 earned around ₹22 crore on its opening day from 9,033 shows. The film then recorded collections of approximately ₹33.75 crore on Day 2 and ₹26 crore on Day 3.
Its first-week collection stood at around ₹113.50 crore. The film has subsequently crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide, with reported global theatrical earnings of approximately ₹205.35 crore.
Emraan Hashmi’s Next Film
Despite the health setback, Hashmi has several projects lined up. He will next appear in Gun Maaster G9, which also stars Genelia D’Souza and Aparshakti Khurana.
The film is being directed by Aditya Datt, while the music has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
Gun Maaster G9 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 27, 2026.
The makers recently released the film’s official teaser, giving audiences a glimpse of its mix of romance, music and action.
Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote, “THE WORLD OF G9 BEGINS. Romance. Music. Action.”
For now, Hashmi is taking a break from his scheduled appearance in Bengaluru as he recovers from H1N1. Fans will now have to wait until the rescheduled September 12 event to see the actor in person.
