Effective immediately, the supplementary subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder will lead to a fiscal impact of Rs 7,680 crores during the fiscal year 2023-24, as per Anurag Thakur.

In the current scenario, the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder is Rs 1053 in Delhi, Rs 1052.50 in Mumbai, Rs 1068.50 in Chennai, and Rs 1079 in Kolkata. It is noteworthy that oil marketing companies raised the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 50 in July, following two previous hikes in May.
