Showing solidarity with party MP Sanjay Raut, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena head Uddhav Thackeray personally visits Raut’s Mumbai residence and meets his family on Monday.
Raut was taken to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital for a medical checkup just several minutes before Thackeray reached his residence.
Earlier in the day, Raut’s brother Sunil Raut had stated Shiv Sena workers will protest against the arrest by the ED, further adding, “The Shiv Sena and Uddhav ji stand solidly behind us. Our legal fight (over Sanjay Raut’s arrest) has begun.”
Party MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also gave suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha under rule 267 citing the Centre’s “misuse” of investigative agencies for political agendas and detaining opposition leaders in a bid to silence them.
