Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena, is gearing up to host a significant town hall event at the Worli National Sports Club of India (NSCI) Dome on Tuesday, January 16. The primary agenda is to discuss and vehemently oppose the recent order issued by Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar in the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification petition.

Sanjay Raut, UBT Sena MP, revealed, “We have invited reporters from across India to discuss the order by Speaker Narwekar. It is an open press conference attended by press reporters and legal experts. We want to discuss how justice and constitutional provisions have been flouted before addressing the press. It will be a public teardown of the speaker’s order.”

The UBT Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece, Saamana, has raised concerns about Narwekar allegedly disregarding suggestions and guidelines provided by the Supreme Court when dealing with MLA disqualification. The discontent among the people of Maharashtra has prompted Uddhav Thackeray to address and challenge Narwekar’s orders, which are perceived as violations of the constitution.

In an unprecedented move, a significant press conference has been organized, and the public is also invited to attend. Sanjay Raut expressed his view that Narwekar’s order represents the height of untruthfulness. The post of the assembly chairman is considered constitutional, and the person in this role is expected to maintain neutrality. However, Narwekar’s actions are believed to have exceeded these limits, prompting strong opposition from the Shiv Sena. The event aims to provide a platform for a comprehensive discussion on the perceived violations of constitutional norms and the implications of the speaker’s order.
