Mumbai: Though Shiv Sena leader Dharmaveer Anand Dighe (2001) breathed his last at Singhania Hospital, the then leader, the present Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray did not visit the hospital to inquire about Dighe’s condition. The same Thackeray also avoided watching the accident scene of Dighe shown in the movie “Dharmaveer” (Mukkam Post Thane) and the incident of his treatment on Sunday.
After watching the film, the Chief Minister said that role of Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe played by actor Prasad Oak is tremendous. Dighe had always tried to bring joy to the lives of others. Nowhere did I realize I was watching a movie.
Uddhav further appealed to everyone that all should watch this biopic. “We should learn from this movie how to live life. Every city should have one Anand Dighe so that our mothers and sister will be safe. Watch this movie to know how to be a Shiv Sainik. How the relationship between Shiv Sena chief and Anand Dighe became stronger has been depicted perfectly in this movie.”
“Many incidents have happened in front of me. Balasaheb had faith in Anand Dighe. Saying this, the Chief Minister said that he could not see the last incident. Because it was a shock for the Shiv Sena family. At that time, I have seen Balasaheb in distress,” said Uddhav Thackeray.
Meanwhile, after visiting Ganesh Mandals during Ganeshotsav, Dighe’s vehicle was involved in an accident in 2001, in which his leg was fractured. He was later admitted to Singhania Hospital in Thane for treatment. Several senior Shiv Sena leaders kept visiting Dighe at the hospital. Raj Thackeray, the then leader of Vidyarthi Sena and now president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had visited Dighe twice in the hospital to inquire about his health.
Incumbent Union Minister Narayan Rane had also visited Dighe. However, since Uddhav Thackeray did not return to the hospital, good discussions can be heard then and now. Finally, Uddhav Thackeray went to the hospital only after Dighe’s death. However, the issue of Uddhav Thackeray not even bothering to go to the hospital once during his treatment despite such a serious incident in Dighe’s life is still being raised.
