Uddhav has in principle agreed to be CM, says Sanjay Raut

Mumbai:

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray has in principle agreed to become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, this was disclosed to newspersons by senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday evening. Sources in the Sena while speaking to newspersons confirmed that the Sena president has given his consent to the proposal from the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to become the next Chief Minister of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance government.

Speaking to newspersons later, senior NCP leader Praful Patel stated that leaders from the three political parties held discussions on important matters, consensus was reached on many matters, while agreement on some issues is yet to be arrived. Former Congress, chief minister, Prithviraj Chavan while arguing that talks were positive, he added that the talks were inconclusive and will continue tomorrow (November 23, Saturday). Thackeray on the other hand tried to be tight-lipped arguing that he did not want to give half-baked news and when the details will be finalized he will let it be known.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar disclosed that leaders from the NCP, Congress and their allies in principle had given their consent to the candidature of Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister. Speaking to newspersons here, the NCP president stated that all the allies were of the opinion that Uddhav Thackeray should head the government. Pawar clarified that there were no talks on which agenda will the government function and those talks will be held on Saturday. He added that once the talks are over the details will be disclosed to the media.
