As part of the all-party delegation spearheading Operation Sindoor’s global outreach, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee made a compelling pitch to the Indian diaspora in Singapore, calling for a united effort to expose Pakistan’s deep-rooted connections with terror outfits.
Speaking at a public interaction attended by NRIs and international observers, Banerjee cited “unmistakable and disturbing evidence” linking Pakistan’s military establishment to terror organisations. “You have so much evidence in the public domain where you see high-ranking Pakistani military general officials attending the funeral of labelled terrorists, where else do you see this? I mean, what else can we offer you as evidence?” Banerjee said, underscoring the brazenness of Islamabad’s support to extremists.
The TMC MP also emphasised the critical role of digital advocacy in shaping international opinion. “Twitter threads travel faster than diplomatic cables. We need to up our ante as well,” Banerjee remarked, encouraging the diaspora to actively engage online and help amplify India’s narrative globally.
Banerjee clarified that while political parties in India may have internal disagreements, there is unflinching unity on issues concerning national security. “Where I might differ with the ruling dispensation or the political party, I will fight with them tooth and nail. But when it comes to the national security of my country, I will stand firmly and serve towards what is in the best interest of my nation. I will not let my political interests come in the way of my national interest,” he said, addressing concerns about political discord during critical times.
Operation Sindoor, launched in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, is aimed at briefing global partners and allies about India’s position on terrorism and the resolute response by Indian forces. The high-powered delegation includes MPs across party lines—Sanjay Kumar Jha (JD-U), Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), Brij Lal (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Baruah (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), former Union minister Salman Khurshid, and ex-diplomat Mohan Kumar.
