Srinagar: A high-level delegation from Jammu and Kashmir led by TUCCJ&K Convenor and General Secretary JK-EJAC, Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani is heading for Delhi to meet union ministers to discuss several long pending issues.
During his official visit to New Delhi, Geelani will be meeting Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climatic Change, Bhupinder Yadav and Union Secretary to Ministry of Labour and employment Sunil Barthwal to discuss the long pending demands of employees of J&K especially of the temporary workers who are suffering since last two decades.
During the meeting, various demands of the permanent employees along with temporary workers will be discussed.
These include – Implementation of Minimum Wages Act in UT J&K as has been implemented in the rest of the country, regularization policy for temporary workers, removal of pay anomalies in various wings of the Forest department and necessary amendments in the recruitment rules of the forest department.
Geelani expressed optimism that they will definitely get a positive response from the union government as it will be a revolutionary measure for the promotion of work culture.
