Harda, a town in Madhya Pradesh, was rocked by tragedy on Tuesday when an illicit fireworks factory suffered a devastating blast, claiming the lives of seven individuals and injuring over a hundred others. The explosion, which occurred near Magardha Road in the Harda district, set fire to more than 50 nearby houses, forcing residents to flee for safety.

Eyewitnesses reported harrowing scenes of bodies lying on the road near the factory, with the blast’s impact felt across the surrounding area. The inferno, fueled by stored gunpowder for fireworks, quickly engulfed the factory and nearby structures, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) in Bhopal swiftly mobilized medical teams from Hamidia Hospital and Medical hospitals to provide assistance to the injured in Harda. Reports indicate that 30-35 people were hospitalized due to injuries sustained during the blast, underscoring the severity of the incident.

In response to the tragedy, Indore Municipal Commissioner Harshika Singh took proactive measures to bolster fire safety in the region. Eleven fire brigades were promptly dispatched to Indore, signaling a concerted effort to prevent similar disasters and mitigate risks posed by hazardous activities.

The aftermath of the blast has left the community in shock and mourning as authorities work to ascertain the full extent of the damage and provide support to affected residents.
