TMC Faces Fresh Internal Turmoil as Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar Complains Against Kalyan Banerjee to Lok Sabha Speaker

Internal tensions surface within Trinamool Congress

Fresh signs of unrest have emerged within the All India Trinamool Congress after party MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar formally approached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla with complaints against fellow party MP Kalyan Banerjee.

In her communication to the Speaker, Kakoli alleged repeated verbal misconduct and claimed that inappropriate behaviour towards women parliamentarians needed serious attention and action.

The complaint has added another layer to the ongoing turbulence within the party, especially at a time when several leaders have publicly expressed dissatisfaction with internal functioning and organisational management.

Complaint comes after resignation from party posts

The latest development follows Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar’s recent decision to step down from important party responsibilities, a move that had already triggered political speculation in West Bengal circles.

Sources indicate that her resignation and the formal complaint have intensified discussions regarding factional issues and dissatisfaction among sections of the party leadership.

Kalyan Banerjee dismisses allegations

Responding to the complaint, Kalyan Banerjee questioned the timing and intention behind the allegations. He argued that parliamentary procedures require complaints regarding incidents inside the House to be reported immediately and suggested that the accusations lacked clarity regarding the specific incidents being referred to.

His remarks further escalated the public political exchange between leaders of the same party.

Growing unease within TMC after political setbacks

The Trinamool Congress has recently witnessed multiple leaders expressing frustration over internal decision-making and organisational handling following recent political setbacks.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen had earlier indicated dissatisfaction with the party’s functioning and reportedly expressed interest in stepping down from his organisational role.

He also referred to controversies linked to the RG Kar incident and alleged that concerns raised internally were ignored within the party structure.

Senior leaders hint at larger organisational concerns

Adding to the growing unease, senior TMC leader Biswanath Deb reportedly expressed disappointment with the party’s functioning and hinted at possible political decisions in the future.

The latest developments have fuelled speculation regarding widening internal divisions within the Trinamool Congress as political observers closely watch how the leadership responds to the emerging dissent.
