New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday renewed his attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the two “colluded to steal votes” in multiple states. Sharing a video on X, Gandhi repeated his charge that the ECI and BJP were working together to manipulate elections.
While naming Uttarakhand as a fresh case, Gandhi also referred to Maharashtra, Haryana, and Karnataka — states he had previously accused of being part of similar irregularities.
“Vote chori (theft) is not just an electoral scam, it is a grave betrayal of the Constitution and democracy. Let those responsible for this hear clearly, times will change, and punishment is inevitable,” Gandhi wrote in Hindi, a day after a live presentation where he claimed to have evidence of voter list manipulation.
Following his remarks, the Election Commission asked Gandhi to submit the “clear evidence” under oath. The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha responded, “My word is an oath,” and urged the poll body to review its own records.
In his video, Gandhi recalled growing up in a political family, mentioning that he and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra — now also a Lok Sabha MP — used to make election posters at home during the 1980s. He said he had “a deep understanding of the election process — polling booths, voter lists, and everything involved.”
