Patna: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar today, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on both the Central and Bihar governments, accusing them of failing to uplift the state despite decades in power.

Speaking to news agency, Yadav pointed out that Bihar remains at the bottom of key development indices despite having a “double-engine government” for the past 20 years. He questioned the BJP-JD(U) alliance’s achievements, stating, “Narendra Modi has been the Prime Minister for 11 years, and Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister for 20 years. Yet, Bihar ranks lowest in per capita income, investment, and farmer earnings. It is number one in unemployment, migration, and poverty.”

Highlighting that there will be no other elections in Bihar this year, Yadav suggested that PM Modi’s visit was purely political. “We had said earlier that everyone will rush to Bihar. There’s only one election happening here, and now, they are all here,” he remarked.

He further accused Modi of making empty promises to the people of Bihar. “It’s good when the Prime Minister comes, but all he does is deliver slogans and deceive the people,” Yadav said, adding that Bihar continues to struggle despite repeated assurances from the BJP-JD(U) leadership.
