Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has strongly condemned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for allegedly talking and gesturing during the national anthem, calling it an act of “disrespect.” Expressing his dismay, Yadav remarked, “Being a Bihari, I feel ashamed.”

Speaking to the media, Yadav criticized Nitish Kumar for setting a poor precedent as the leader of the state. “This is the first time in Indian political history that a Chief Minister has shown such disregard for the national anthem. Nitish Kumar should apologise to the people of the nation. The BJP leaders only do drama—where are Bihar’s two deputy CMs now? The Chief Minister should retire,” he asserted.

Former Bihar CM and RJD leader Rabri Devi also launched a scathing attack on Kumar, questioning his mental state. “He is not mentally stable. If his mind is not working, he should step down and make his son the Chief Minister,” she said.

RJD MP Misa Bharti raised concerns over Nitish Kumar’s health, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene. “During the national anthem, the Bihar CM did not appear to be physically or mentally well. I want to ask PM Modi and Amit Shah if they believe his mental state is fine. He insults women and children daily. They need to think about who is governing Bihar,” she told ANI.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Mukesh Raushan staged a protest in Patna, demanding Nitish Kumar’s resignation. “The Chief Minister must apologise for insulting the national anthem. He should step down immediately, and President’s Rule should be imposed in Bihar. A case of treason should also be filed against him,” Raushan declared.
