Teachers Day celebrated in Monarch Secondary School in Handwara

Srinagar: The Teachers Day was celebrated all over the country on Monday and in North Kashmir’s Monarch Secondary School Handwara, district Kupwara. Various functions were organised to observe the day and most of the student’s highlighted the importance and the value of teachers in their speeches.

Director of Monarch Secondary School Handwara, Farooq Ahmad Pir, Chairman Zahoor Ahmad Ahangar, Principal Fazil Rehman, teachers, staff members, social activist Farid Ahmad Khan and students were present during the programme, The chief guest for the function was Principal of Model School Handwara, Zahoor Ahmad Dar.

Cultural programs and skit items were presented by the school students, besides a number of speakers highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the personality of every student during their academic career. The students presented different items like songs, short skits, dance items and speeches.

Later a prize distribution function was held among teachers, staff members and students. The teacher of the year was given to head of the Physics department Bilal Ahmad Wani, head of the department of lower classes Shaista Wani.
