Faridabad: In a major anti-terror operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Haryana’s Palwal Special Task Force (STF) arrested a suspected terrorist, Abdul Rehman, from Faridabad on Sunday. Authorities have recovered two hand grenades from his possession, and sources of India TV indicate that he allegedly confessed to planning an attack on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Rehman, a resident of Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, is currently undergoing intensive interrogation regarding his links to terrorist organizations. Preliminary investigations reveal that he traveled to Faridabad by train, where an unidentified handler allegedly handed him the grenades near a village and instructed him to stay put.

Authorities suspect that Rehman is linked to the ISIS-affiliated Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) module, which he allegedly joined ten months ago. Reports suggest that he received training through online video calls while operating from his shop in Milkipur. Investigators have found multiple images and videos of religious sites on his mobile phone, indicating possible reconnaissance efforts.

Following his arrest, a court has granted the Haryana STF a 10-day remand for further questioning. Officials are now probing his handlers, digital footprint, and wider terror connections. With this latest development, security agencies are on high alert, and further arrests cannot be ruled out as the investigation continues.
