New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition filed by Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad High Court challenging the report of a three-judge in-house inquiry committee. The committee had investigated the cash recovery case involving him and recommended action.
Varma had also contested the recommendation made by former Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, who had advised the President and Prime Minister to initiate impeachment proceedings. The apex court, however, refused to entertain the plea, marking a significant setback for the judge.
