Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday (January 5) refused bail to activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam in the 2020 Delhi riots case, citing a strong prima facie case under the UAPA. The bench, comprising Justices Aravind Kumar and NV Anjaria, granted conditional bail to five other accused: Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shifa ur Rehman, Shadab Ahmed, and Mohd Saleem Khan. The verdict was reserved on December 10.
