Islamabad: A At least 13 Pakistani soldiers lost their lives and several others sustained injuries on Saturday after a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy in the Khaddi area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to initial reports, the attack targeted a mine-resistant vehicle that was part of a bomb disposal unit. Security officials confirmed that the powerful explosion resulted in heavy casualties and significant damage to the convoy.
Responsibility for the attack was claimed by Aswaad-ul-Harb, an affiliate of the Ittehad-ul-Mujahedeen Pakistan, a militant network operating in the region.
