Subhash Ghai has reportedly finished scripting “Khalnayak 2”. The renowned director, famous for the original film featuring Sanjay Dutt, is presently in talks with several talented young actors for the iconic role of “Ballu Balram”.
As reported by India Today, Ghai has completed the script for the movie. Although it’s unclear if Sanjay Dutt will reprise his role for the sequel, Ghai is keen on casting a young actor as Ballu Balaram. Additionally, he is contemplating renowned actors from the South for the part.
According to a source close to the project revealed to the portal, Subhash Ghai intends to approach actors such as Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor for the role of “Ballu Balram”. Additionally, he is considering not only Bollywood but also South Indian actors like Allu Arjun and Yash for the part. Ghai’s main criterion is to find someone capable of carrying forward the legacy of Ballu Balaram.

Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher starred in ‘Khalnayak’. Last year, they reunited to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. Upon its release, the movie sparked controversies. The song ‘Choli Ke Peechay Kya Hai’ became immensely popular and was also featured in the 2024 film ‘Crew’.
