State Government trying to strangle democracy, attacks Darekar

Mumbai: Opposition party leaders are not allowed to go anywhere and are being stopped from seeking information about on-going attempts to contain and control the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, such is the attempt of Maharashtra government to strangle democracy alleged Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Pravin Darekar. 

“Opposition leaders have many avenues through which we can help the common people and give them justice. We can reassure this to the crores of population in Maharashtra more aggressively. But in trying to run away from their own failures the Maharashtra government is trying to strangle the democratic order”, accused Darekar.

He also alleged saying State Government and Guardian ministers did not take corrective measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Meanwhile Congress leader Sachin Sawant retaliated “Regarding Government officer’s meetings decision taken by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is a desire fulfillment of Devendra Fadnavis government tenure decision”. “Why are the BJP leaders and opposition leaders getting so worked up on this decision?” he questioned. 

Sawant also attacked saying “BJP leaders think they are still in power. Their desperation and insecurity for power could be clearly seen in the last six months. Therefore they could not stop themselves from ordering government officials.” he added.-By Rishikesh Chavan
