SSP Kupwara Shobit Saxena inaugurates Kupwara Police Cricket Tournament for Women

Srinagar: In a bid to felicitate and nurture the hidden sports talent among the women in Kupwara, Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Shobit Saxena on Thursday inaugurated the “Kupwara Police Cricket Tournament for Women” (KPCTW) under the civics action program 2024.

The tournament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and witnessed the attendance of several prominent dignitaries and cricket enthusiasts.

The inaugural match was attended by the other police officers including ASP Kupwara, G M Bhat, Dy SP Headquarters, Mohammad Amin and Dy SP DAR, Syed Mujahid Ul Haq. Various cricketer’s and students from different institutions also attended the event, added, to the excitement and spirit of the tournament.

Addressing at the event, SSP Shobit Saxena emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of youth and highlighted the police’s commitment to supporting and nurturing young talent in Kupwara. He expressed his hope that the tournament would not only provide a platform for young women cricketers to showcase their skills but also inspire more young girls to take up the sport.

The Kupwara Police Cricket Tournament for Women aims to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth of the region. The tournament will feature teams from various schools and clubs, competing in a series of matches over the next few weeks.
