Mumbai: Former CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has lashed out at the Shiv Sena party which is ruling the BirhanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for many years.
Fadnavis while speaking at the BJP function in Mumbai termed BMC as the “Hub of Corruption.” Fadnavis also backed and praised the work of BJP group leader Prabhakar Shinde to expose the corruption of ruling Shiv Sena in the BMC.
“The way corruption is happening in BMC, I don’t think so you will find anywhere in Maharashtra or even in the country. I am closely monitoring the BMC for the last one and half years, under the name of COVID they are calling all meetings of Standing Committees online and not allowing BJP corporators to speak in those meetings.”
Fadnavis alleged that ruling Shiv Sena party in BMC has single point agenda working in ‘arbitrary’ style and complete their ‘set goal’ without having any discussion or debate about the feasibility of the project.”
Many question marks have been raised on most of the decision which BMC had taken during the covid period due to corruption happened in BMC,” said Fadnavis.
Fadnavis also spoke about alleged corruption related to BMC road contracts. According to Fadnavis, at many places, BMC has given a contract of tar road when already cement concrete road is there, at few places when there already good tar road made BMC had floated tender to reconstruct the entire road again. “Soon I am going to demand a special CAG audit of BMC’s expenditure,” said Fadnavis.
