Bilaspur: A tragic train accident in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday claimed at least six lives and left more than 30 passengers injured. The collision occurred near the Lalkhadan area when a local goods train from Raigarh rammed into a stationary passenger train on the busy Bilaspur–Howrah route.
According to reports, the passenger train involved was MEMU No. 68733, operating between Gevra Road and Bilaspur. The incident took place around 4 pm. “One train was stranded when another train coming from the Raigarh side collided with it from behind,” a local eyewitness told IANS.
Rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the crash, with teams working to extricate trapped passengers. Injured individuals have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
